A few of us are getting together to learn about Open Street Map, understand Bhopal’s administrative and spatial data, and improve the open map data of the city using satellite images.
It’s also a way to meet interested residents and start off a mapping community. If you’d like to join us, please keep reading and fill up the form in the end.

Where: Bhopal Lakeview Coffee House, Khanugaon, Bhopal (a quiet cafe overlooking the upper lake)

- 5.30pm – 5.45pm: introductions
- 5.45pm – 6pm: what is OSM?
- 6pm – 6.15pm: create an OSM account
- 6.15pm – 6.30pm: editing the map
- 6.30pm – 7pm: practice editing the map around your locality
We can stay longer and discuss themes for subsequent mapping parties / walks.

How to get there: since Bhopal lacks a usable public transport system, you will need your own vehicle to reach the cafe or take a cab/auto at least till the Khanugaon intersection on VIP road. From there it is a 10 minute walk, or 5 minute drive. Directions on OSM here. The last segment of this route is on a kutchha path on which cars and motorcycles can go.
Parking: there is ample parking for two-wheelers, and limited parking for four-wheelers.
